Unforgetable Quotes of Dr. Myles Munroe

“The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a purpose.”

“I exist to transform followers into leaders. My philosophy is, trapped in every follower is a leader. My belief is, if that person is placed in the right environment, the leader will manifest herself or himself.”

“Every human heart cries and yearns for the same thing: a chance to fulfil his or her own dreams and desires. Even the poorest man has a dream.”

“Paradoxically, freedom requires the need to impose control on self, require more responsibility than slavery, and the decision to accept a destiny of freedom, recognizing the process and discipline that personal and political freedom require.”

“The greatness of a man is measured by the way he treats the little man. Compassion for the weak is a sign of greatness.”

“People generally fall into one of three groups: the few who make things happen, the many who watch things happen, and the overwhelming majority who have no notion of what happens. Every person is either a creator of fact or a creature of circumstance. He either puts color into his environment, or, like a chameleon, takes color from his environment.”

“We are a sum total of what we have learned from all who have taught us, both great and small.”

“The original purpose for a product determines its design, composition, capacity, and potential. Purpose may be defined as “original intent” or “reason for creation.”

“We are smarter not wiser, we live longer but not healthier, we have more but enjoy less, we go to the moon but not go home.”

"To exercise leadership, you must believe that you are inherently a leader.”

“Leader is not a right, but it is a privilege given by the followers.”

"There is nothing as powerful as an IDEA. Everything created began as an idea. Ideas created and controls the world. Pursue divine ideas.”

“Your existence is evidence that this generation needs something that your life contains.”

 "Purpose is when you know and understand what you were born to accomplish. Vision is when you see it in your mind and begin to imagine it.”

 “The wealthiest places in the world are not gold mines, oil fields, diamond mines or banks. The wealthiest place is the cemetery. There lies companies that were never started, masterpieces that were never painted… In the cemetery there is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential. There is a treasure within you that must come out. Don’t go to the grave with your treasure still within YOU.”

“Circumstances and crises are God’s tools to move you into your purpose and the maximizing of your potential.”

“The Creator caused to be inherent in each created entity – including the apex of his creation, mankind – everything it needs to fulfil its original purpose. The original purpose for mankind, defined and established by the Creator, was to “rule (have dominion) over all the earth”. Since the word ‘dominion’ in this case means to reign and rule, the Creator wired ALL human beings with the capacity and natural ability to lead.”

“Death can never kill an idea. Ideas are more powerful than death. Ideas outlive men and can never be destroyed.”

LOVE YOUR PASTOR

'He...gave some to be...pastors.' Ephesians 4:11

 Pastors have a tough job. They get more kicks than kisses. If a pastor is young he lacks experience; if he's grey-haired he's too old. If he has five kids he has too many; if he has none he's setting a bad example. If his wife sings in the choir she's being forward; if not, she's not dedicated enough. If he preaches from notes he's dry; if he's extemporaneous he's too shallow. If he spends too much time in his study he's neglecting his people; if he makes home visits he's not a good time manager. If he's attentive to the poor he's after public approval; if he attends to the wealthy he's ingratiating. If he suggests improvements he's a dictator; if he doesn't he has no vision. If he uses too many illustrations he neglects the Bible; if he doesn't use enough stories, he's unclear. If he speaks against wrong he's legalistic; if he doesn't he's a compromiser. If he preaches for an hour he's windy; less than that, he has nothing to say. If he preaches the truth he's offensive; if he doesn't he's wishy-washy. If he fails to please everybody he's hurting the church; if he tries to please everybody he has no convictions. If he preaches tithing he's a money-grabber; if not, he's failing to develop his people. If he receives a large salary he's mercenary; if he doesn't it proves he's not worth much. If he preaches on a regular basis, people get tired of hearing the same person; if he invites guest preachers he's shirking his responsibility. Wow! And you thought your pastor had an easy life! How'd you like to change places? Bottom line: love your pastor.

The Release of Power by Bishop David O. Oyedepo: Scriptures of Note per Chapter

Introduction: 1Cor 2:4:  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Chapter 1: Psa 63:1 – 2:  A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Chapter 2: Mic 3:8  But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Chapter 3: Eph 2:19  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God

Chapter 4: Act 20:32  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Chapter 5: Act 4:33  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Chapter 6: Php 2:10 – 11  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Chapter 7: Zec 9:14 – 15  And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar.

Chapter 8: Isaiah 8:20  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Chapter 9:  Deut 8:18  But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day

Chapter 10: Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Chapter 11:  Isa 61:1 – 3: The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Chapter 12: Exo 30:31  And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

Chapter 13: Psa 78:9  The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

Chapter 14:   Rev 12:10  And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down……

Chapter 15:  Deut 20:1  When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
